Free Library Talks

Talks will focus on exterior uses of feng shui. Plant selection and placement will also be covered. 30% of each purchase of Feng Shui for Hawai‘i Gardens sold at these events will be donated to the Friends of the Library.

Intensive Feng Shui Classes

Each class lasts three hours and costs $30. No pre-registration required. $20 refund issued at the last class for any student who attends all four.

Introduction to the Feng Shui Bagua | Sat., Feb. 18, 6pm - 9pm
Explains the Bagua map, a nine-area grid that lies over the floor plan, identifying the Wealth and Relationship areas, which are briefly touched on during this class and covered in depth during the next class. Additional topics: Yin and Yang; the Five Elements and their application to furnishings; the power of color.

Wealth & Relationship: The Two Power Corners | Sun., Feb. 19, 1pm - 3pm
A continuation of the previous class, but can be attended separately. The class focuses on the two important back corners of a room or home. General feng shui tips on harmony and prosperity are included.

Interior Chi Flow | Fri., Feb. 24, 6pm - 9pm
Introduces Chi energy, the most basic feng shui concept. Explains how to maximize Chi’s beneficial flow and retain it. The importance of doors and windows is stressed, as well as how to use feng shui cures. Additional topics: locating the powerful spots within a room; countering harsh energy within the home, such as open beams and ceiling fans; furniture selection and placement.

Garden Feng Shui | Sat., 25, 6pm - 9pm
Using your garden to attract energy to your property. The importance of the approach to the home is stressed. Topics covered include: positioning a home correctly in the landscape; identifying negative energy from neighboring structures and how to deflect it; harmonizing your home with the surrounding landform; the four archetypal energies; mauka/makai orientations.

Classes will be held in the Hukilau Private Meeting Room, Executive Centre Hotel, 1088 Bishop Street (Ewa/makai corner of Bishop and Hotel). Validated parking. Garage driveway is to the right on Bishop Street between Hotel and King streets, immediately before Starbucks and shortly after the UPS Store. Lobby is accessed from street level via escalators on Bishop and Hotel.

Clear Englebert has taught feng shui in Hawai‘i and California and consults on homes, gardens and commercial spaces throughout the Islands. A recognized feng shui expert, he has been featured on television programs and in print media and has published two previous feng shui titles for a national audience, Feng Shui Demystified and Bedroom Feng Shui, as well as the best-selling Feng Shui for Hawaii, now going into its third printing.
